The subject of my study was: “Contribution of hyperspectral imaging to the optical characterization of water from industrial discharges”. The goal of this study was to develop a method applicable without in situ measurement in order to detect and characterize pollutants in industrial ponds using airborne or spaceborne hyperspectral imagery. To do so, we develop a physically-based method by modeling the interaction of light with the water column and by using signal and images processing algorithms. This also could allow to quickly and efficiently map pollutant releases in natural water bodies such as rivers, lakes or oceans.
